Racing action returned to the Murray Speedway on a warm Friday evening. It was hall of fame induction night where 7 new people we added to the hall of fame. These seven are Swede Anderson, Scott Kleve, Jackie Linder, Dan Ross, Dave Ross, Brian Postma, and Dottie Muecke. Along with this was the running of the Swede Anderson shootout for the modified class which put up bonus money to win. The races were sponsored by Rob-See-Co Seeds.

S&S Electric MCRA Pickups
First to take the track were the pickups T.J. Gertsema led the field to the green. On the start, Matt Odom quickly jumped out to the race lead. Jordan Rolling got to second and quickly began to challenge for the lead. However, contact in the pack resulted in the red being displayed. All drivers were okay. On the restart, Rolling would take the race lead. Jordan Rolling went on to take the feature win. Matt Odom finished second, Dan Jensen finished third, and T.J Gertsema finished fourth.

Plaid Moose Café IMCA Sport Compact
Next to take the track were the sport compacts. Scott Espey led the field to the green. On the start, Robert Pottratz jumped out to the early race lead. Kent Miller quickly got around Pottratz for the race lead. Behind them, Matt Smith, Jason Wynia, and Brent Staab fought for third. However, contact between these cars resulted in Brent Staab rolling multiple times. Staab was okay. On the restart, Miller kept the lead and would go on to take the feature win. Tori Groebner finished second, Jason Wynia finished third, and Dylan Schreier finished fourth.

Legend Seeds Hobby Stocks
Next up were the hobby stocks. Brad Snyder led the field to the green. On the start, Justin Luinenberg got a great jump and took the race lead. Eric Gillette made his way to second and looked to challenge for the lead. John Ross caught up to Gillette and began to battle for second. Ross cleared Gillette and looked to reel in Luinenberg. Cory Probst followed Ross and quickly began to challenge for second. However, contact between them brought out the caution. Ross was charged with the caution so he had to go to the back. On the restart, Luinenberg kept the race lead. Probst quickly challenged but a late caution forced a green-white-checkered finish. On the restart, Luinenberg kept the lead. Justin Luinenberg went on to take the feature win. Trevor Holm finished second, Cory Probst finished third, and Adam Snyder finished fourth.

Sturdevant’s Auto Supply Sport Modifieds
Next up were the sport modifieds. Tanner Gregoire led the field to the green. On the start, Cole Bents jumped out to the early lead. Jeremy Van Ede quickly got to second and began to challenge for the lead. After an early caution, Bents kept the race lead. Bents quickly began to pull away from the field and went on to take the feature win. Eric Bassett finished second, Jeremy Van Ede finished third, and Danny Myrvold finished fourth.

Car Toyz Stock Cars
Next up were the stock cars. Gary Mattison led the field to the green. On the start, Kevin Debaere took the early lead. Nick Johansen quickly took second and began to challenge. However, problems for Johansen brought out the yellow. On the restart, Dustin Larson took the race lead. Kevin Debaere looked to challenge, but Larson pulled away and went on to take the feature win. Kevin Debaere finished second, Jake Bruns finished third, and Nick Johansen finished fourth.

RH Sealcoating & Asphalt IMCA Modifieds
Last up was the Swede Anderson shootout for the modifieds. Trevor Kracht led the field to the green. On the start, Zach Van Voorst took the race lead. Jeff Larson quickly made his way to second and began to challenge for the lead. After an early caution, Larson took over the race lead and began to pull away. However, another caution negated the lead. On the restart, Larson kept the race lead. Jeremy Smith got to second and looked to reel in Larson. Behind them, Tyler Limoges made his way to third and looked to reel them in. Limoges was able to catch Smith and began to challenge for second. Smith held on to second and had reeled in Larson and began to challenge for the lead. Jeff Larson held on to take the feature win. Jeremy Smith finished second, Tyler Limoges finished third, and Jesse Rogotzke finished fourth.

Racing action will return next week with all the same classes on display. Next week will also be the running of the Dominick Bruns Memorial stock car race. The races will be sponsored by State Farm Insurance - Kim Holm of Slayton.
