The drivers meeting for the 2019 season at the Murray County Speedway, will be held on Saturday April 6th at 3:30pm at the Murray Lodge - TL Computer Services building on Broadway Ave in Slayton. Areas to be covered: Dates and Specials in the 2019 season, encouragement in planning for the Kids Night in August, car registration (Free), reserve parking spots, memberships, the change in the racing surface after the adding dirt last fall.

Driver & Pit Crew Memberships will be available to be purchased on April 6th at the Drivers meeting at 3:30pm. Cost of a membership is $30, which will reduce the cost of buying the pit pass from $30 to $25 per night. Car registration for the 2019 season is now open. There is NO FEE to register your car. There will be two ways that your can register your car. After much consideration, the Speedway has decided to push back the season opener to Friday May 17th. There has not been enough days for the track to dry out between each rainfall, to do any track prep. Plus, with the new dirt that was added, we are concerned on what the track maybe like that first night. We just don't want to see anyone's car, get destroyed this early in the season. Great News for Everyone!!!! The Murray County Speedway will be holding Test-N-Tune practice on Friday May 10th from 7-9:30pm. Cost per car is $40. Pit crew is free admission. As the Speedway finalizes it's plan for the start of the 27th season, many specials events are bring some special attention to the Speedway. Opening night of the season, is on Friday May 17th, with the Pizza Ranch of Slayton as our sponsor. We are sorry to inform everyone, the races for tonight are canceled. We had close to an inch of rain this morning, the sun still has not come out here yet. The pit area is super wet, the likely chance of getting stuck, is very possible. The track looks in good shape, but with no drying conditions, we just can not put cars out there. Will try again next week.
