After a short break, we are ready to come back to a special event this Friday July 14th. The Speedway will be inducting two new members into our Hall of Fame. Both drivers are several time class champions during their careers. Check back to this page for Wednesday's announcement. Classes running on Friday night are the IMCA Modifieds, Stock Car, Sport Mod, Hobby Stock, Sport Compact and the Bombers.

The Murray County Speedway will be taking a Mid Season Break this Friday July 7th. The Murray County Draft Horse Show is being held July 7-9th at the Murray County Fair Grounds. The next night of races will be Friday July 14th, with the following classes IMCA Modifieds, Stock Car, Sport Mod, Hobby Stock, Sport Compacts and the MCRA Bombers. Hope to see everyone then.

This Friday night will be our MVTV - Kids Night. At intermission, the drivers will bring their cars in front of the grandstand and all kids will have the opportunity to go visit all of their favorite drivers. Altenburg Construction Kids Club T-shirts will be given out, plus scooters, bikes and fishing poles. All of the IMCA classes will be racing, plus the MCRA Bombers. Grandstand will open at 6pm, with hot laps at 7:15pm with racing to follow.

Well, it is getting really old posting this every week, but we are going to cancel the races for tonight. With as wet as the ground is, the amount of rain we are currently receiving and the forecast for this evening, we just can't win. Whoever is doing the rain dance in Slayton can take seat for awhile. We are saddened to say that we are going to cancel the races for tonight. We have gotten around 6 inches of rain this week. The bottom of the track and pit area are saturated. We would be lucky to get on the track by early afternoon. There is also a 50% chance of storms this afternoon. We don't want to wreck cars or the track. We will be rescheduling Kids Night on a later date. Thank you for your understanding!

Highway 59 project in Slayton completed WILLMAR, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation bypass lane project on Highway 59 in Slayton has been completed and the detour will be removed by end of day today.

This Friday is Pizza Ranch of Slayton night. IMCA Stock Car Special $1500 to win, $150 to start. Stock Cars will be draw/redraw. Classes running will be the IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Hobby Stock, IMCA Sport Compacts and MCRA Bombers. Modifieds are not running this weekend. Looking at having terrific weather for Friday night. We appreciate everyone that came to the races last Friday night, the temperature was better than what we all expect.
